when I started this blog five years ago, I was a pet sitter and the name animal-crackers made sense. now I'm a stay-at-home-dad and freelance writer, but rather than confuse everyone by getting a different blog, it's just easier to keep posting things here.

first day of school
Monday was back to school for Joshie. First grade!
His new teacher makes all of the students wait in line. He greets eat kid and chats for a minute. Here's Josh waiting to go in.
And it was Dylan's first day in pre-school. It's a special program for kids with disabilities. We always knew Dylan was behind the curve, because of his prematurity. But we were a little shocked to find he's in the 2 percentile for cognitive, social and language ability.
Still, Dylan's new teacher is excite by curiosity and eagerness to learn. He should be ready for kindergarten in a couple short years.
Here he is with his backpack.
